In this new entry, we shall bring all of
you readers back to 1994 where the movie Shawshank Redemption was first
premiered. The movie begins when Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), a bank officer is
convicted of murdering his wife and her lover, a pro golf player. Despite he
claims not guilty, he receives a life sentence to Shawshank Prison where he
meets Red (Morgan Freeman), a respected inmate who commits contraband in the
prison. The relation between these two antagonists gets closer and Andy becomes
respected by many of the inmates and wardens. After some time, Andy gets used
of the life there but still has a hope that someday he will get out from
Shawshank. He keeps on trying to convince Red to be hopeful but Red seems to be
pessimistic. With all the determination that Andy has, he finally manages to
escape from the prison.
Although there are some violent scenes and
vulgar words being poured, the movie seems to give a sense of hope that draws
the watchers’ attention. On another note, other than just for entertainment, we
also see this movie as a form of education where it offers a picture of how
prison operates and the corruption that are concealed behind the closed doors.
In overall, we really enjoy watching this movie as it leaves us with a sense of
warmth, hope and curiosity. We hope all of you readers can make your own time
to watch this movie too! Enjoy!
