Perhaps a stepping stone for the Malaysian Industry...yes it is but the movie failed to attract my attention. The movie directed by the renowned Yusry Abd Halim gets tones of critics from people all over the world. What do expect to get from a small production crew which is KRU to produce such big scenes. On my opinion, it is very good that Yusry had given at least a try on making a film which involves mostly non-Malaysians. But the movie.....it was rather dull and boring. With the poor computer-generated effects, the movie was a great plunge for the KRU production. The Hollywood Reporter states that the fight scenes were slightly admirable but the CGI effects were cheesy and seems too vague. Yusry shouldn't be making a movie like this.

On a professional way perspective, he should be more focusing on improvising the CGI effects since his recent movies before also shows some cheesy flaws in computer effects. His movie Merong Mahawangsa was a good movie though. That's a movie what we wanna see. A movie that distinguishes us Asians from the westerners. Why the movie " The Raid Redemption" from Indonesia caught the attention of the world even though they cost far lesser than the Vikingdom movie production? How is this possible? ....Yes it is possible. On my point of view, movies showing us about vikings are just too mainstream. I hate it even if they give it for free. Yusry should come out with new ideas from a broader perspective and learn to now what the audiences want. All in all, I support all efforts given out by Yusry since he works hard and learns how to adapt with critics. Despite the frustrating feeling when viewing Vikingdom, I still believe that Yusry can do better in the future .
