Will Smith, an American actor that many times won the audiences hearts in every film that he acts in. He owns a personality that can astonish people and can be considered as an astounding actor. Despite his popularity, the role that he conveys inside the movie ‘After Earth’ changes the whole perspective of others towards his acting career. I hate to admit his fine work but honestly the movie ‘After Earth’ was considered as a failed production because of the lack of attention received from the audience. With the helping-hand for his son, Jaden Smith which is the main character of the movie, the movie somehow shows a lethargic part in his role. Critics from ‘The San Francisco Chronicles’ stated in their post that Jaden is still an amateur in the filming industry and still not ready for a solo part....ok....Other than that, the action scenes in the movie were redundant and contain lack of attention getters that could catch insights of the audience. This movie is considered as another failed production by M. Night Shyamalan, the director of the movie. In other words, there is still a silver lining in everything that happens.

The movie somehow wins the hearts of the minorities in which most of them are Will Smith’s fans. Although the movie was considered as a slow-paced movie, the support from the fans covered up some of the flaws of the movie. The movie was always compared to the movie Oblivion which cost around 120 million American dollars while 130 million is the cost of ‘After Earth’. The movie ‘Oblivion’ starred by Tom Cruise was a major hit and cost slightly cheaper than ‘After Earth’. In both of the movies, we can clearly see that although the actors starred in one film are well-known and had long time experience in the movie industry, they can still produce less income and support than they expected . It depends on the attention getter and plot of the movie in which are the essential role in a movie. Failure is an option. We can choose to fail and we can also choose to win. In order to win, movie producers should consider adding more entertaining plots and learn from critics and mistakes. The only hope from this blog is Will Smith should never give up though receive tons of critics but he should learn and omit the flaws in his productions.
